Menyikapi Hoax dan Jurnalisme Damai
Hoax dan Jurnalisme Damai menjadi tema dalam pelatihan Jurnalistk untuk Mahasiswa yang didukung oleh Kedutaan Besar (Kedubes) Amerika Serikat di Jakarta. Acara berlangsung di Pandanaran Hotel, Semarang, Jawa Tengah pada 25 hingga 26 November. 20 peserta terpilih dari berbagai pers kampus di wilayah Jawa Tengah, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Riau dan Medan. “Terdapat 60 pendaftar dan hanya 20 yang lulus,” ungkap Farnsiska Ria Susanti, selaku Koordinator Program.
Theresia Andriana, Perwakilan Kedubes Amerika Serikat, juga sampaikan bahwa sangat mendukung pelatihan yang membawa nama jurnalis kampus.
Materi yang dipelajari Hoax dan Jurnalisme di Indonesia, Konteks Pelatihan Jurnalisme Damai, Mengenal Lebih Jauh Tentang Jurnalisme Damai, Jurnalisme Tanpa Hoax, Menampilkan Soal Konflik dalam Media sepersi Pers Mahasiswa, Dasar-dasar Penulisan Berita, Dasar-dasar Penulisan Feature, Merancang Ide Liputan dan presentasi. Tak hanya itu, pelatihan juga diselingi diskusi bersama, menonton film dan latihan penulisan berita.
Ketua Jurusan Komunikasi Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Diponegoro, Triyono Lukmanto, sampaikan materinya mengenai Hoax dan Jurnalisme Damai di Indonesia, mulai dari pengertian hoax, hoax dan konflik horizontal, hoax di Indonesia serta karakteristik hoax. Semuanya dijelaskan dengan apik dan ringkas. “Hoax awalnya tidak berkaitan dengan jurnalistik, melainkan sihir serta kebiasaan orang Amerika Serikat saat April Moop ,” katanya saat menyampaikan materi.
Jurnalisme damai (Peace Journalism) dalam praktiknya lambat, namun komprehensif. tetap menggali proses terjadinya konflik, mengetahui tujuan masing-masing pihak dan membuat konflik jadi transparan.
Triyono juga paparkan mengenai karakteristik hoax, pertama, hoax merupakan bentuk pengelabuhan yang bersifat publik. Kedua, hoax tidak sekedar teks, tapi kejadian yang dipanggungkan atau yang ditampilkan secara utuh. Ketiga, hoax dijadikan objek tertentu, yang dijadikan objek tertawaan dan keempat, hoax berkembang di dunia persaingan serta menjadi subur ketika dikontruksikan dengan simbol-simbol khususnya politik.
Grek Magnus Finess, Wartawan Kompas dan Aliansi Jurnalis Independen di Semarang, yang saat itu juga menyampaikan materi yang mengenai jurnalisme vertikal tentang konflik Urut Sewu di Kebumen, Jawa Tengah. Konflik tersebut memperebutkan lahan antara militer TNI dan petani. Keduanya tidak memiliki bukti yang kuat. Sehingga terjadi perlawan sengit sejak 2009 hingga 2013. Konflik itu mereda pada kepemimpinan Gubernur Ganjar Pranowo.
“Surat atau dokumen yang mereka miliki dari jaman Belanda yang diwariskan secara turun temurun,” katanya lebih lanjut.
