Perkakas Menulis
Dalam pendidikan jurnalisme ada empat elemen utama yang harus dikuasai, semua itu di jelaskan Andreas Harsono dalam Pelatihan Jurnalistik Tingkat Lanjut (PJTL) yang di adakan Bahana Mahasiswa Universitas Riau (UR) di Kota Siak Sri Indrapura. Rabu, (19/07).
Pertama, liputan harus melalu riset, interview disertaai liputan tematik, seperti rubrik Perang, Ekonomi, Politik, dan lain sebagainya. Dalam buku “Writing Tools” karya Roy Peter Clark, perkakas menulis yang ke-14 “Get the Name of The Dog” menjelaskan tentang pentingnya sebuah riset dalam peliputan, bahkan wartawan diminta mengetahui nama anjing sang narasumber. “Gali se-detail mungkin, meskipun nanti tidak dituliskan semua,” ungkapnya Andreas Harsono.
Terdapat 50 perkakas menulis yang disajikan dalam buku Roy Peter Clark yang dibagi menjadi beberapa bagian; “Nuts and Bolts” terdapat 10 perkakas, “Spesal Effect” dengan 13 perkakas, “Blueprints” ada 16 perkakas, dan “Useful Habits” ada 11 perkakas.
Andreas harsono mengibaratkan perkakas menulis seperti sebuah rumah. Pertama, “Nuts and Bolts” dianggap rumah petak asal jadi, lebih kurang ada 500-600 kata. Jika wartawan sudah menguasai perkakas ini maka sudah dianggap bisa menulis sebuah straigh news atau tulisan piramida.
Selanjutnya jika wartawan sudah menguasai bagian “Spesial Effect” maka rumah terlihat lebih indah, lebih ada variasi. Ini dianggap sebagai tulisan feature, lebih kurang 5000 kata.
Jika wartawan sudah menguasai “Blue Print” maka wartawan tersebut sudah bisa menulis narasi, lebih kurang 15.000 kata.
Dan jika wartawan sudah menguasai “Useful Habits” rumah yang di bikin sudah semakin mewah, dengan gedung beberapa tingkat, ini diibaratkan sebuah buku, dengan kurang lebih ada 100.000 kata.
Setelah wartawan menguasai perkakas menulis, yang menjadi hal penting dalam kepenulisan adalah “penulisan”. Penulisan ada piramida terbalik, feature, dan narasi. Andreas Harsono bilang bahwa teknik penulisan tidak usah didebatkan, untuk apa mendebatkan koma, titik, tanda petik, tanda kurung, dan sebagainya. “Itu semua tidak penting.”
Seorang wartawan yang baik juga memperhatikan ‘Hukum”. Karena banyak sekali pasal yang dapat memenjarakan wartawan dalam perundang-undangan pencemaran nama baik. Sehingga wajib sekali wartawan mengerti hukum.
Dinamika Redaksi penting sekali dipelajari oleh seorang wartawan. Karena, pengalaman-pengalaman yang pernah di alamai oleh lembaga pers bisa di ambil sebagai pelajaran. “Pelatihan-pelatihan jurnalistik maupun kurikulum perkuliahan harus memperhatikan ini,” tutupnya.
